Hand Wart Removal- Your Ultimate Guide
Hand warts are a skin affliction and are the most common type of warts a person can get. They are formed when the Human Papilloma Virus gets into the skin through cuts on the epidermis. Hand warts can appear on the fingers or the palm and are small round rough patches. If treated properly, hand warts needn’t be too much of a problem.
There are several methods of hand wart removal. Natural means use vegetables, fruits or oils that are readily found at home. These are the most inexpensive treatments and pose the least risks since there is no surgery or incision involved.
Vegetables, fruits and natural oils are some of the most common treatments under the natural method. Garlic is an especially effective treatment; rubbing a sliced clove of garlic on the affected area can help remove the wart in a few weeks. Potatoes are also effective hand wart removal treatments. Rubbing a slice of potato on the wart for 30 minutes and doing this twice a day can help remove the wart as well.
Rubbing a banana peel on a wart also promises to remove a wart in the quickest possible time. Aloe is a common houseplant that has been renowned for it’s many benefits. The use of Aloe extract or Aloe sap has been proven to help remove warts as well as reduce discomfort brought on my warts. It promotes faster healing and softens the skin.
Tea tree oil and Vitamin E oil also help the skin and heal the wart, removing it in a few weeks. It is recommended that a pumice stone or emery board be used to file the wart and soften it in between applications of any of these methods.
Hand wart removal using over-the-counter products are also safe but a bit more expensive than natural methods. Plasters containing salicylic acid or a concentrated salicylic acid solution has been proven to help get rod of warts in a short amount of time. Salicylic acid is an extract from a medicinal plant, and like Aloe, is known for it’s many benefits to the skin and body. Salicylic acid helps heal the wart. When using plasters, it softens the wart, making it easier to remove. When using the solution that is directly applied on the wart, the wart dries out after a while, and the skin heals well.
Hand wart removal using surgery is an option for warts which are persistent and cannot be removed easily. This can be done upon the recommendation of your dermatologist, and there are several ways of doing so. The most common method is to freeze the wart off. Again, however, this depends upon the recommendation of your dermatologist.
Removing hand warts can take up to 12 weeks, depending on the type of wart. Even if you can try home remedies to get rid of it, it is best to consult a skin doctor is you find that the warts are recurring or taking longer than usual to disappear despite treatment. Remember that warts are nothing to be embarrassed about, and treating it is quick, easy and painless.
